As part of its radioactive waste package characterization activities, the CEA in CADARACHE carries out X-ray mapping of drums weighing up to 5 tons. To meet the needs of the CEA in ensuring a precise positioning of the packages, DEFI SYSTEMES has fabricated a positioning platform which allows maneuvering by rotation, as well as by translation according to two axes (a vertical axis and a horizontal axis).
Within the framework of this project, DEFI SYSTEMES' teams carried out the studies (including mechanical and seismic dimensioning), the fabrication, the adjustment in factory, as well as the installation and the start-up of the equipment on the customer's site.
In this context, DEFI SYSTEMES also defined and built the support frame for the X-ray generator, associated with the positioning bench.
