Project description
The technique of strip casting allows an automated way of implementing a liquid slurry on a support film. After drying, the product obtained presents great precision and a great homogeneity of thickness, allowing its use in the realization of stacks of fuel cells of the SOFC type.
Within the framework of this application, intended for the CEA of RIPAULT, the DEFI SYSTEMES teams carried out the studies, the realization, the adjustment in factory, as well as the start-up of the equipment on the customer’s site.
Considering the solvents involved in the slip, particular attention was paid to ATEX issues (risk analysis, zoning, and choice of ATEX components, installation of a ventilation system, etc.). Among the constraints of studies and realization, the bench integrates a combined device of heating (conduction and forced convection) allowing to reduce the time of drying.
Thanks to its experience in the study and the realization of casting benches, DEFI SYSTEMES proposes today small series of equipment dedicated to the research and the production.
